Hey friends! This blog is specifically about Knott’s Soak City located in Southern California! We were blessed enough to be hosted by them and I want to give you the scoop on our day and how you can enjoy the best bang for your buck!
First off, I want to start by telling you what I think you should bring. You ARE allowed to bring in strollers so I definitely recommend bringing yours if you have littles. I didn’t leave my valuables like wallets, phones, and car keys but I did leave the rest of our stuff and it was totally fine.
What to bring | TAP photo below to go to my Amazon shop for affordable water park items! affiliate
SUNCREEN - there is very little shade around the seating/laying areas so bring sunscreen.
TOWELS - you need to bring your own towels.
WATER SHOES/SANDALS - the ground was HOT. Bring water shoes or sandals because your feet will be raw by the end of your day. They do allow shoes in the pools and attractions. If they don’t, just take them off for the slides and then put them back on when you get off. Trust me, you need shoes.
UV SWIM SHIRTS - the sun is strong. Please cover up for you and your kids. You will get burned.
SNACKS, FOOD, WATER - they do allow these into the parks if you have children.
WATERPROOF POUCH - I have a waterproof fanny pack for our valuables and it worked perfectly.
U.S. COAST GUARD APPROVED LIFE VESTS: we bought ours years ago at Target and they were accepted by the park. They do also have vests there at the park in case you don’t want to purchase some prior to your trip but they can run out quickly.
What to do with littles | babies - toddlers:
Soak City Fun House - located in the middle of the park. People of all ages can do it. Baby T loved it and it was safe for him! The slides on this jungle gym were not for him but M and K did them and they loved them!
Tidal Wave Bay - life vests ARE required for this. I kept baby T in the shallow end with me while my husband and brother in law had my older 2 with them to keep them safe.
Gremmie Lagoon - this area is specifically made for littles and it’s very shallow. My older 2 went on the slides and thought it was cute.
Sunset River - the lazy river was perfect for everyone. Life vests were not required but I had baby T in ours.
What to do with big kids & adults:
Banzai Falls - minimum height requirement is 42” | the kid’s loved it!
Laguna Storm Water Tower - minimum height requirement is 42” | the kid’s loved it! You can do a double floatie for this ride.
Malibu Run - minimum heigh requirement is 48” | my kid’s enjoyed this but wouldn’t do it again. It’s definitely more for thrill seekers!
Old Man Falls - minimum heigh requirement is 48” | I did not allow my kid’s to ride this for safety reasons. Definitely for thrill seekers!
Shore Break - minimum height requirement is 48” | we didn’t have time to ride this ride but I think my kids would have loved it!
The Wedge - minimum heigh requirement is 42” | My kid’s loved this ride! They did it twice!
This park really is for EVERYONE. We had a wonderful time! I also want to touch up on the food we ate because we were pleasantly surprised how yummy it was!
Longboard’s Grill is where we ate because it was right next to our chairs and it was DELICIOUS! We got the chicken tenders, cheeseburgers, and chicken sandwiches and everything was AMAZING. Our meal plan came with the meal, side, and drinks!
The other restaurant in the park is Portside Pizza and although it looked so, so yummy there is no way we would have gotten full off the amount given (samoan appetites). It looked super yummy though!
It was such an amazing day! I highly recommend going as soon as you can! They’ve extended their dates to October 1, 2023! They’re open Monday - Friday & Sunday 10am - 6pm and Saturday’s 10am - 7pm.
I hope you get to visit soon! Tag me on all platforms if you do! Let me know if this blog was helpful for your visit to Knott’s Soak City trip this summer!
Love,
Alex
