Hey friends! Welcome back!
This week’s blog is a review on our experience at the Grand Legacy Hotel at the Park!
DISCLAIMER: We were hosted for our little staycation so this is a sponsored post however, the reviews and opinions are my own!
The restaurant at the top of the hotel called The Fifth is SO COOL. It’s a bar that serves delicious food as well and it’s all so yummy! DISCLAIMER - some people may be bothered at night trying to fall asleep because of the loud music but our kids still had no problem falling asleep. We like listening to music before bed anyways but this was just an FYI if you stay in the front tower of the hotel. I’m not sure if you can hear the music in the other parts of the hotel but either way, it sounded awesome!
There is security for parking and arrival that I was impressed with. They were constantly looking out and they recognized who were guests and who weren’t and when guests are supposed to leave. I LOVED that.
Ok, now - THE ROOMS.
Just because it’s “located” by Disneyland doesn’t mean it’s a Disneyland hotel. The rooms were decorated with modern touches and very minimal decor which I appreciate because clutter gives me anxiety so I really enjoyed how simple the rooms were. The bathrooms were BEAUTIFUL. I loved the small space that is given to wash hands in front of the mirror and still have privacy to shower or use the restroom. The tile in the shower is gorgeous! There is an armoire for your clothes to hang up and that armoire does have an iron and ironing board! The cupboards have 3 drawers and a fridge! the fridge is open and has tons of space! It’s not like other hotels that have drinks in there already and if you drink one, you get charged. No. Its an open mini-fridge so you can totally put your food and drinks in there! Again, with little kids, I loved that! Such a small gesture that I appreciate SO MUCH. The TV is a great size! it’s just regular cable, no disney plus or smart TV which was frustrating to find kid friendly channels but it was fine!
The pool area was our favorite! It was simple but SOOO FUN! It’s a long pool and the deepest it goes it 4.5/5 feet I believe. The shallowest part is 1.5 feet deep which my kids LOVED. That completely won them over honestly. The fact that they didn’t have to wear their floaties made them so happy! AND the pool is HEATED. I don’t know if it’s only heated at night because it was hot during the day but we also went night swimming when it was a little chilly and the pool was SO WARM. Kids or not, that feature is awesome! There’s also a tiny hot tub that’s usually too hot for me but it was nice to know it was there! The fun water features that were outside of the pool were some water guns and a fun shower! There were also 2 palm trees that dripped water! The kids had such a fun time! Even if we go back to stay here and don’t go to Disneyland, this pool would make them so happy!
Although it was cold and chilly, we still went to check out the pool area and the chairs and tables are spread out around the area. The kids will always love the layout of the shallow/beach like pool.
Other points I need to mention, the rooms have their own thermostats and my husband was super impressed at how cold the AC got when he turned it down! We get hot fast so really liked that! Also, when Troy pooped on the blankets LOL We called the front desk for more blankets and they came within 5 minutes of calling! It was so nice!
Lastly, THE VIEW! The view we had was of Guardians of the Galaxy Ride to our left and the Disneyland Resort sign to our right! IT WAS AMAZING. We stayed in the tower right on S Harbor Blvd. and it was AWESOME. Right when you walk out of the hotel, you walk to the right and a few steps down is a Denny’s and a few more steps is an Ihop. We ate at Denny’s and Ihop and we preferred the service and food at Denny’s. And then, a whole 7 minute walk from the hotel to the Disneyland Resort sign. Like literally steps away!
Anyways, I hope this review was just what you needed to book the Grand Legacy Hotel by Disneyland. We will for sure be returning! I don’t have a code or discount for you but if you mention me - “Alex Faafetai from Mermaids on Main Street” that would be AWESOME and super helpful that my review really did help your choice of choosing the hotel!
Stay Magical,
Alex & Family
