This can be such a cliche but to be honest, it matters. Not many people talk about tips to have a good time at Disneyland. We have definitely had many different types of days at the parks. Haha! There have been great days and not so great days at the parks for us! We go often enough to make up for the not-so-great days but that doesn’t mean we don’t have them!
I get asked this often considering I have toddlers and there’s a chance they might not remember most of our trips. However, you’d be surprised at what they do remember!
In this week’s blog post, I have 5 Tips to have a Good Time at Disneyland.
MAKE A PLAN! Check out the Disney app prior to your trip and plan out what you’d like to do. Plan extra time in between shows and attractions for unplanned character meets! I like to give myself a schedule of times for shows or when I need to move to the next land and it helps so much because I’m running after 2 little people. Sometimes I even set alarms to mobile order my lunch and it helps literally so much! This helps because I don’t have to pull over and waste time on my phone trying to find something to do!
BE PREPARED! One of the first times we went to the parks and Kai got sick on a ride, we forgot an extra set of clothes and had to head home just barely an hour after arriving. It was such a bummer! Be prepared! Kids are still kids and sometimes have accidents and really don’t like their day getting ruined by them. Be prepared to get wet, to have an accident, and to cover up (night time).
GO WITH THE FLOW! Don’t be afraid to change up your plans! Sometimes your kid will want to say hi to a character or go on a ride that has a longer wait time and that’s ok! Stay positive and just look for the next “fun thing”. Sometimes it rains or sometimes it gets too hot and you have to find a way inside somewhere and that’s ok, too! Plan accordingly so you’re all ready to rock and roll! You’d be surprised that sometimes if you change up your plans for the day, it ends up better than you ever thought!
SNAP THAT PHOTO - RECORD THAT VIDEO! You don’t have to be an influencer, or a social media person! We’re ALL getting older - babies, kids, teenagers, parents, grandparents, etc. We are here one day and the next, we could be gone. The outfits don’t matter, the “I look big” thoughts don’t matter, it’s the MEMORY matters. How you felt in that second is what matters. Your kids will remember how happy they felt when you show them that memory. My babies love going back and seeing the videos I record of them at meet & greets! Also, don’t be afraid to ask others to take your photo! I do it all the time for my kids and I! Everyone wants it in return so just do it!
Lastly, BE KIND AND STAY CALM. It so easy to lose your mind in the parks! If you have an attitude, you’ll most likely respond with an attitude and others don’t need that! Expect crowds, expect delays, expect a mess with an open heart and an open mind and your kids will remember that. They sense your anxiety and worries just as much as they sense your happiness. There’s no reason to freak out over something you can’t control! Just let it go, and move on!
I genuinely hope these are great tips! I consider these more as “life” tips but to be honest, they’ve helped me form a great relationship with the Disneyland Parks! I’m a person who needs a check list or an itinerary and this was it for me! Every trip is so different and so magical. Look for the magic and you’ll find it!
I will be doing a GIVEAWAY on my page soon for hitting 3K followers so be on the lookout for that! Until next week, loves!
We love you guys so much!
